On the Trail to Laguna Jahuacocha, 17 August 2001 acrylic on panel, 80" x 28", 2002
  The seemingly abandoned house and corral surrounded by tough vegetation, dwarfed by the huge outcropping of rock, reminded me of another beautiful highland - a hemisphere away in Scotland. The very gray sky completed the feeling. Then, as I was sketching, patches of deep cobalt appeared.
