  While hiking up to and over Punta Rondoy (15,584 feet) mist turned to rain. turned to hail. turned to snow! As a lifetime resident of the temperate Bay Area, I was delighted by this primer of precipitation. After a few minutes, the sky cleared only to cloud up again as we descended into this Andean valley pasture.
