I had just seen an exhibition of drawings of the 17th century Venetian artist Piazzetta. Included was a drawing labeled Idealized Self Portrait . Naturally, the notion of making oneself an ideal person through drawing appealled to me! And totally cracked me up... In this case, a piece of packing from the new washing machine served to elevate my every-day status. |
